In a desperate attempt to get fame and ensure a ticket in LS elections, several politicians are requesting/ pressuring/ bribing AAP senior members to put their names in AAP’s Lok Sabha ‘Candidate vs Opponent’ list. AAP claims that after their first list they have even got requests from several BJP and Congress’s veteran yet forgotten party leaders who want to revive their fortunes.
“Nobody knew who was Inderjit Singh or Sanjay Patil was, but after their names came as candidates against Yogendra Yadav and medha Patkar their popularity have zoomed. Not only have they secured candidature without filing in their names but they are already planning their post poll strategy.” Said a disgruntled Veteran corrupt UPA politician “If corruption was a criteria then aren’t we corrupt, don’t we accept bribes. Why didn’t our names come in the list? WTF!”
Sources have told Unrealtimes that some of the senior corrupt MPs have joined hands to form a Committee of Corrupt (COC), which is demanding AAP for more transparency in the process of arriving at this list. And even requested AAP that 'if corruption was the sole criteria they themselves can give them merit based list of corrupt'.
One of the accused MP of the Coalgate scam said, “How dare they put the name of Salman Khurshid in their first list when I am there. What is 71 lakh, that’s my hourly corruption rate. There was no transparency, no SMS poll for the first list. In fact I smell a scam in coming up with this list of corrupt.”
On the other hand honest Congress and BJP members have accused of AAP of selective picking. They say that politicians such as Suresh Kalmadi, Mohammad Azharuddin and Nitin Gadkari would not have got a ticket either from BJP or Congress. However since AAP has mentioned their names, both these parties are bound to field these candidates against AAP members else they would claim a moral victory before elections.
AAP founding member and Ex- Delhi CM Arvind Kejiwal said “Yesterday Advaniji called, cough! Cough!. Kehte hain ji put my name in your list from Gandhinagar, I am scared Modi might fight me from there this time. Batao ye din aa gaye inke.” However when L.K.Advani threatened to start a Yathratra from Kejriwal’s future Constituency, he took a U-turn and said that it was either Pankaj or Nikhil Advani who had called him up but he can’t be sure as he could not record the phone call.
